Verse 1:
When only I was a spark in your creation
you made a paradise for me
Eden, trees and bees, and rivers running free
we can eat from all of your abundance
apart from the tree of truth and lie
If we eat it will we die?
Ref:
But what does it mean for me to die?
Will I wither like a twig that has been torn?
A fall from Eden, a past life to morn?
Will I become like you, my God?
will I get the power of creation?
What does it mean for me to die?
Verse 2:
I only named all living creatures
You simply sang, they came to be
Mighty lord creator of the earth and sea
I reach for fame and bold ambition
I rise to be as great as thee
or can You be a man like me?
Bridge:
You are my only master
and I am a part of your song
You are my source of eternal light
Now I need your light
I ate the fruit of wisdom
now I stumble in the dark
Ref:
Death has collected, I am dead
I have faded like a twig that has been broken
I’m drifting away, falling from your mountain
I’m like the dust from which I came
All the strength that I had has withered away
Now I am dead, this is to die
Half verse:
Father, you wept when we went away
And I am comforted by
that you looked upon us
with a rescue plan
a plan to save our lives
a rescue plan
a plan to reunite
